Her four children Brandon (14), Austin (7), Brigham (6), and Matthew (4), were shot at point-blank range in the head. After killing her four children, Susan committed suicide by shooting herself in the stomach, but her attempt failed because her life was saved.
In the court, Susan admitted that her actions were in revenge for her husband, who abandoned her. Susan also said, her actions are a form of her deep love for her four children, and for this action, Susan was sentenced to death.
