Nicholas Perry was born in Ukraine on May 19, 1992, and adopted shortly after. He later grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with his family.

Before Nikocado decided to jump into the Youtube Community, he had a dream to work as a freelance violinist and had the ambition to play in a Broadway Orchestra's show. As a 21 years old musician living in New York, he found it difficult to make a living as a musician because the city is filled with talented and competitive musicians.

He later moved to Colombia to live with his then-boyfriend (now husband), whom he met back in 2013 in New York.

Started to be a vegan vlogger

Years before he started to be an extreme fast-food vlogger like we all know today, Nikocado began his youtube channel in 2014 with the intention to vlog his daily vegan lifestyle. His early YouTube videos are mainly focused on him living his life as a vegan.

Back then, before mukbang videos were trending on Youtube as it is today, Youtube was filled with vegan and other healthy food vloggers. Due to this trend, Nikocado's channel had no problem fitting into the Youtube community.

His infamous line during his early Youtube career was "You are what you eat, so whenever possible [always choose to] eat from the earth, and you will feel alive."

Stopped being vegan

After his first vegan video on Youtube, he posted another video on his main channel in 2016 explaining why he no longer wants to be a vegan vlogger. So far, in 2021, his no longer vegan video has received more than 2 million views.

In the video, he mentioned that he stopped being vegan because of the worsening health conditions attributed to his vegan diets, such as tooth decay, vitamin B12 deficiency, and hypoglycemia.

He also mentioned the abusive comments he received from the vegan community changed his views toward veganism.

"I'm never vegan enough [for them]" he added

Once he left the vegan community, Nikocado's introduced himself to the mukbang community by uploading "CHEESIET MAC AND CHEESE MUKBANG" in 2016. Mukbang was actually originated in South Korea and started to popularize in the late 2000s to 2010. The mukbang word itself is made up of "eating" (meokneun) and "broadcasting" (bangsong)

Nikocado apparently became the first American man to participate in the extreme mukbang eating trend when he joined the mukbang community. Nikocado also excelled at this type of content since his audiences were addicted to his flamboyant and cheerful personality.

He also sometimes features his pet parrot and his husband, Orlin, in some of his videos.

Making drama for content

After he joined the Mukbang community, people slightly noticed a change in his eating habits. He started to make content with eating huge portions of junk food. Nikoado realized what junk food has done for his mental health.

During his collaboration with another female Youtuber, Trisha Paytas, Nikocado admitted, "Junk food has made me crazy. I have several episodes of a maniac and everything seems really hard for me."

As if blaming himself for starting a career in junk food mukbang wasn't enough. He also admitted his exaggerated behavior on YouTube videos was also caused by his over-dramatic behavior. Later on, he admitted he takes advantage of his low-life moments for Youtube success.

"I'm already dramatic. Let me just grab the camera and film it," he added.

Those of you who have watched Nikocado's videos on YouTube must have noticed that he consistently uses images of himself sobbing while eating a huge amount of food. Unfortunately, not everyone enjoys how he behaves on YouTube.

Many subscribers are concerned about his physical health and mental wellness after watching his theatrics behaviors on YouTube. In his videos, you will find comments like "This is genuinely sad," "I miss the old nick.." from subscribers expressing their concern for Nikocado's mental health. The subscribers were also worried about Niko's possibility to get a heart attack at such a young age.

Responding to the concerns, he admitted he's been seeing many doctors for his conditions. Still, he has not checked out his mental health yet.
