According to the Citizens Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice in Mexico, most violence in Tijuana is caused by human trafficking and drug trades. Every day in Tijuana, at least 6 people were murdered as a cause of gun violence.

Though homicide rates in Tijuana are still considered high, the local administration has stated that lowering this homicide rate wouldn't happen quickly overnight. Meaning, Tijuana will probably remain the world's most violent city in the world.
