The legend about Thor is one of the most famous Scandinavian folk tales. Maybe you've heard the myth from Scandinavia about Thor and his hammer called Mjölnir. Before Christianity entered Norway, people believed that Thor rode a chariot pulled by two goats across space. When he swung his hammer, there would be thunder and lightning. The word thunder in Norwegian - "Thor-don" - means Thor's roar. In Swedish, the word thunder is "asks," which comes from the word "as-aka," which means "god's journey" over the layers of the sky.

Thor's legendary story has also been discussed in various Nordic literature in a journal on Nordic mythology called Poetic Edda.
